Celebration of the Legacy of H.P. Lovecraft
Apr 2, 2017
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
An annual gathering close to the anniversary of the death (March 15, 1937) of seminal horror writer H.P. Lovecraft who lived nearly all his life in Providence, with readings and other performances under master of ceremonies Christian Henry Tobler and organizer Carl L. Johnson who has been conducting these memorials since 1987.
Bringing appropriate material for reading, singing, or other performance is invited.
In good weather the event takes place on the outside front lawn of the observatory building and can draw as many as 150 attendees, but in bad weather the event is moved inside the observatory building.
No dress code, but vintage Victorian/Edwardian formal attire encouraged.
Good for children old enough to read and like scary stories.
