Providence Comics Consortium

Providence Comics Consortium was founded in 2010 as a way to get children to embrace the art of making comics. Popping up at community libraries all over Providence, they have published numerous comics created by children and adults. They take pride on hosting classes for all skill levels, which suits their simple yet passionate mission: “Kids at the Library Making Comics! Everybody Making Comics!” They host classes, have screen printing sessions and run camps. The cartooning classes are free, and kids are encouraged to create assignments for interested adult cartoonists.

Providence Comics Consortium was last at Foo Fest in 2015, where they were on hand to pass out comic themed advice. It is unclear what surprises Providence Comics Consortium will have in store at this year’s Foo Fest, but they will be hands-on and no doubt be fun and family oriented, with enough flair to get the creative juices flowing.
