The fall season begins on September 23, 2019, at 3:51am EDT when the Sun enters Libra. A horoscope erected for that moment, located in Washington DC, puts the Sun in the 2nd house, the house of money, land and values. These attributes are emphasized further by the presence of Mercury, Venus and Mars situated here as well. The prominence of the 2nd house reveals some of the issues that will be important throughout this season.
In addition to the economy, money supply, budgets and taxation problems, concerns with the land, farming, forests and the use and misuse of these natural resources emerge and raise questions of management and preservation. In response to humanity’s abuse of the environment, Mother Nature will roar, bringing more fires, floods and other natural disasters that raise awareness and spark outrage and concern in many, pitting the public against those who have power and control over the causes and prevention of such disasters.
An international flavor at the New Moon following the Equinox stimulates diplomacy, immigration, judges, churches and institutions of higher learning. As the Moon waxes to Full, the energy shifts as Mercury moves into Scorpio and Mars enters Libra. Mercury here sharpens the tongue and inclines one to research. Mars, the planet of action and energy in Libra, does not function at full throttle. Willingness to compromise is the up side, and folks are more apt to direct their energies into relationships. When Venus moves into Scorpio on October 8, she takes off the velvet gloves. Venus in Scorpio combines passion, sex and obsession. But this placement is not all about hot stuff in bed. Venus rules money, Scorpio rules debt. While you are obsessing over your hot-looking neighbor, don’t lose track of how much you are putting on the old credit card. By the Full Moon of October 13, diplomatic negotiations may break down, borders and border control may require a court decision to resolve. With the Sun in relationship-oriented Libra and the Moon in “go it alone” Aries, being at odds with someone on a personal and global level is easy. Documents and deals involving money and partnerships need to be scrutinized. If all is not in order, in love or money matters, some folks may simply call it quits.
When the Sun and Moon align in Scorpio on October 27, some say the veil between this world and the next grows thin. This belief can be attributed to the Scorpio energy and ability to use x-ray vision. Scorpio gets to the bottom of things and sees through the societal niceties we put on things to make them more palatable. Scorpio will have no truck with the cosmetic, reveling in the warts, wrinkles and flaws of society. This lunation cycle deals with land issues, money and debt and some weather extremes. Mercury goes Retrograde on October 31. While the perils of a Mercury Retrograde period are well-known, a retro period with Mercury in Scorpio is an excellent time for planning and research. As always, with Mercury retrograde, the lead up to the November 12 Full Moon requires attention to and analysis of all news and information that crosses our path. Violence, road rage and power grabs around the First Quarter expose a societal underbelly of ugliness. Secrets are revealed at the Full Moon, and some tightening of the money supply may be required as we experience some rumbles from the stock market. Venus in Sagittarius from November 1 does her best to keep us optimistic and hopeful for the future.
The Sagittarius New Moon on November 26 kicks off the holiday season with a bang. While Congress is involved with enacting laws and doing the congressional tango, Mars in Scorpio at the top of the chart opposing Uranus in Taurus at the bottom promises “earthquakey” events. Could be a physical earthquake, a political one or a monetary one. Neptune stalled and ready to move forward in the 2nd house speaks of a disappearing dollar. You ask yourself, “Where did the money go?” In an easy aspect with Mercury, theft, propaganda and misleading statements are all on the table contributing to fluctuating public opinion. Neptune in Pisces rules refineries, the oceans, natural gas and pharmaceuticals. With Neptune changing direction, these issues are strong. Expect a big bang. Literally or figuratively.
As Moon moves into the First Quarter phase, Jupiter moves into Capricorn. This is a major shift as Jupiter leaves the enthusiastic, optimistic sign of Sagittarius and enters all business, no bullshit, Capricorn. It triggers the energies of the upcoming winter season, when a cluster of planets in Capricorn sends the “party’s over” signal.
Before the hammer falls, we have the Full Moon in Sagittarius on December 12 with Moon in voluble, versatile Gemini. At the top of the chart, this Moon will be heard. Ruling women, public opinion, agriculture and common public needs, a Flint-type situation is possible. The exuberant Sagittarius energy will have a tough time holding on as Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto create a heavy weight in Capricorn. Venus is all business here; while a diplomat at heart, her soothing ways are out gunned. Mercury in Sagittarius is full of optimism and joy. Enjoy yourself before the winter sets in, bringing with it some harsh realities. Stay tuned.
