Okee dokee folks… I mentioned this in my column a few months ago and now it is coming close to being (IS) a major issue. GASOLINE. Before the mango moron started his war of distraction gas was around $2.70. It is now $4.50 per gallon and rising. Diesel fuel is much higher. Most goods and […]
Okee dokee folks… Tonight, at Theatre By The Sea in Matunuck, was the world premiere of You’ve Still Got a Friend: A Musical Tribute to the Lives and Friendship of Carole King and James Taylor. You’ve Still Got A Friend is not entirely what you would think it would be — a tribute show to […]
Okee dokee folks… Back in May I saw Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass at Veterans Auditorium in Providence. That show was so amazing that I had to see it again! Fortunately, just up the road in Worcester, The Hanover Theatre had the Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass & Other Delights concert booked for […]
Okee dokee folks… I just realized that I have been attending concerts for 50 years now. In that span of time I have seen countless shows. I honestly have no idea how many I have been to, but it’s a LOT. In comparison to today’s kids, I got a bit of a late start. I […]
Okee dokee folks… When you mention that you are going to see Weird Al Yankovic in concert, some folks will give you an odd look and ask, “Why?” These people obviously don’t get it. Weird Al’s concerts are maybe the most enjoyable live shows you could ever witness. I just saw him again, for the […]
Okee dokee folks… Last weekend I went on a ten-hour, each way, road trip to play a show. The drive wasn’t so bad, but the music was horrible. As I have mentioned before, I rarely listen to the radio and generally prefer silence when operating a vehicle. If I do listen to anything, it’s 88.1 […]
Okee dokee folks… Well, summer is here and for me, summer is HELL! A few years back I wrote a song about my disdain of Summer for the Empire Revue’s “Cool” show. Here are a couple of the lines: “The summertime tests my will/ the sun is not my friend/ its rays reach out to […]
Okee dokee folks… Rising costs of everything is what’s on my mind this month. It really should be on everyone’s mind. The main things I will talk about here are gasoline and concert tickets. One of these is essential, but for some, both are. I usually drive a pickup truck, for many reasons, but mainly […]
Okee dokee folks… For nearly 70 years, the musical The Music Man has been entertaining audiences with its story and songs about a musical instrument sales conman. On May 16th, I was thoroughly entertained by the production of The Music Man at The Hanover Theatre in Worcester. The Music Man is a classic Broadway Musical […]
Okee dokee folks… Tonight I attended a performance of the Bat Out Of Hell musical at The Hanover Theatre in Worcester, MA. Usually, I do not like to know too much about a show before I see it because I prefer to enjoy it fresh and to see if it stands on its own without […]
