Okee dokee folks… I was fortunate to be in attendance for the sold-out Rush concert, night two, at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, November 1. It had been forty+ years since I’d seen the band live. I first saw them in the mid ’70s, as an opening act, for what band I don’t recall. They […]
Okee dokee folks… Soon we should know whether this country is going to completely fall into fascism, erupt into civil war, or maintain democracy, as it should. A few weeks ago, Tom Morello presented the Power to the People Festival in Maryland. (powertothepeoplefest.com) On the bill were performers such as Springsteen, Joan Baez, Foo Fighters, […]
Okee dokee folks… Back in 1982, I paid a scalper a whopping $90 for a ticket to see The Who at the Worcester Centrum. That was a lot of money back then. I had wanted to see The Who for quite a long time, and that was supposed to have been their last tour. I […]
Okee dokee folks… I mentioned this in my column a few months ago and now it is coming close to being (IS) a major issue. GASOLINE. Before the mango moron started his war of distraction gas was around $2.70. It is now $4.50 per gallon and rising. Diesel fuel is much higher. Most goods and […]
Okee dokee folks… Back in May I saw Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass at Veterans Auditorium in Providence. That show was so amazing that I had to see it again! Fortunately, just up the road in Worcester, The Hanover Theatre had the Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass & Other Delights concert booked for […]
Okee dokee folks… I just realized that I have been attending concerts for 50 years now. In that span of time I have seen countless shows. I honestly have no idea how many I have been to, but it’s a LOT. In comparison to today’s kids, I got a bit of a late start. I […]
Okee dokee folks… Last weekend I went on a ten-hour, each way, road trip to play a show. The drive wasn’t so bad, but the music was horrible. As I have mentioned before, I rarely listen to the radio and generally prefer silence when operating a vehicle. If I do listen to anything, it’s 88.1 […]
Okee dokee folks… Well, summer is here and for me, summer is HELL! A few years back I wrote a song about my disdain of Summer for the Empire Revue’s “Cool” show. Here are a couple of the lines: “The summertime tests my will/ the sun is not my friend/ its rays reach out to […]
Okee dokee folks… Rising costs of everything is what’s on my mind this month. It really should be on everyone’s mind. The main things I will talk about here are gasoline and concert tickets. One of these is essential, but for some, both are. I usually drive a pickup truck, for many reasons, but mainly […]
Okee dokee folks… Tonight I attended a performance of the Bat Out Of Hell musical at The Hanover Theatre in Worcester, MA. Usually, I do not like to know too much about a show before I see it because I prefer to enjoy it fresh and to see if it stands on its own without […]
