To the Editor,
For the third time in recent weeks The Providence Journal has resorted to name calling against people who disagree with a failed economic development strategy that promotes greater inequality, makes health care and housing less affordable for residents of Providence and Rhode Island, and speeds up climate change and its disastrous consequences. Name calling against hundreds of Providence residents and every neighborhood association in the city, in other words the people who believe in democracy, know that communities have a right to determine what is and what is not proper economic development, and object to the corrupt insider baseball game of development that always leaves us picking up the garbage and paying for the corruption while diminishing democracy, seems so appropriate for a newspaper that keeps laying off reporters, sucking up to corrupt politicians and can no longer even get papers delivered so they can be read at breakfast before going off to work.
