Level Exchange at PVDFest

On the surface, music and small businesses don’t have much in common, but they are both rock stars in their own right and The Level Exchange is here to showcase that! During PVDFest, Level Exchange will be showcasing the best that Providence has to offer in terms of local bands, brands and fans.

Shannon Corey, a Rhode Island-born, now Boston-based singer/songwriter with a classic voice and modern twist kicks off the afternoon. Fresh off her tour with Stephen Stills, she is excited to play her native state. Shannon has not played Providence in a while, but you may have seen her open for other artists like Lady Gaga and Jon McLaughlin since her last performance in the area. Next up is brother and sister, Katie and Brad Kleyla. You may currently know Katie as the lead singer of the New Providence Big Band, but at this show you’ll get to see the debut of their 5-piece band. Katie and Brad debuted as a duo in March at another Level Exchange event. Now they’re ready to share their full band’s work with an audience. Along with this great music you’ll get to stay cool with Granny Squibb’s Iced Tea (see story on page xx). June 5, 1:30 pm, Hatch Entrepreneurial Center
Later in the day, head to Flipp Hair Salon for more incredible local music and fantastic food and drinks. Eric Shane of Eric and the Nothing and Kevin and Allison Giuliano will be performing their originals. Eric and the Nothing were recently awarded Best Breakthrough Alternative Act at this year’s Motif Music Awards. Kevin and Allison Giuliano don’t play Providence often, so catch them while you can! While you listen to their music, taste locally roasted Borealis Coffee before they open their first cafe in East Providence this summer, and enjoy cookies and empanadas from Hola Baked Goods. Flipp Salon, June 5, 6pm (doors at 5:30
If you want to enjoy these events and everything else that PVDFest has to offer, let Sol Chariots Pedicab take you to both events and give you a tour of PVDFest between them. But hurry! There are only 10 of these tickets still available.
