Obituary

Obit: Pauly Danger

At Motif, we are heartbroken to share news of the loss of DJ Pauly Danger, a pillar of Providence’s music community. Pauly was so much more than a DJ. He was a friend, a father, and a genuinely kind soul. He brought light and warmth everywhere he went, and we are so grateful for the time we got to spend with him. His presence will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Many people have shared the tremendous impact Pauly had on the Providence Community through Facebook and other social media, expressing their love for him and the kindness he extended to those around him.

Gregory Rourke, owner of The Parlour Providence, honored his dear friend by describing him as more like a brother and “a Reggae soldier of the highest order… Pauly was about FAMILY 1ST. MUSIC, LOVE, AND LIGHT. A proud Papa, an amazing DJ. And a pillar of support for me over the years.”

Along with The Parlour, Pauly regularly performed at many, many different venues throughout Providence, including Nick-A-Nee’s. Their team wrote, “He will be missed by everyone that ever sat with him for even a minute and had the pleasure to chat with him about music, pool, family, or just whatever came to mind. Pauly was one of the good ones that we will never forget”.

Jessica Lehoux Donnelly shared an additional message to Pauly on behalf of the crew at Nick-A-Nee’s, stating that he is “forever in our hearts, we love you.” A particularly heartbreaking quote from Darlene Adrienne highlighted Pauly’s sweet and genuine demeanor as she wrote, “Some individuals come into your life to remind you that truly good and decent people do exist… always a kind word & a bright smile, a peaceful comforting presence… sometimes they’re taken from us too soon”.

Like us all, Kevin Pepperman expressed the difficulty that comes with receiving this kind of news. He wrote, “I’m having a hard time processing this one. So young, so full of positive vibes, a great listener and great talker. He knew when to speak, when to listen, he was always willing to help, with cash, hands, tools, you name it, he always offered a hand to me when he knew I was in need and was very vocal about the successes we shared. He was a good soul”.

For anyone who wishes to further honor the life and legacy of Pauly, The Parlour Providence is holding a “Pauly Danger Celebration of Life Fest” on September 20 at their venue. They’ve added that, “All proceeds go to Paul Bedrosian’s Family. Music, food, vibes, and celebration in honor of the amazing Pauly Danger!” For any DJs, artists, bands, and vendors interested in contributing to this, you can reach out to Gregory T Rourke on Facebook or @Gumzic808 on Instagram.

All of us at Motif send our sincerest condolences to Paul’s family, friends, and loved ones. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tremendous loss. Pauly, you will be greatly missed. •
