Another great icon from our community has passed away. Artist Bonnie Simon is best known as the creator of RI’s “magically inclusive” GET Magazine, a free color magazine whose content was created by the LGBTQ community.
“Bonnie was the ultimate free spirit who paved her own yellow brick road,” says long-time friend Cindy Quartino. Admired for how she seemed to create her career and overcome any obstacle through sheer will, Bonnie loved the song “Cassidy” by Bob Weir: “Let your life proceed by its own designs. Nothing to tell now. Let the words be yours, I’m done with mine”.
