Rejoice! The holidays are over … or are they? Lurking right around the corner is the highly anticipated Lunar New Year. The Lunar New Year is a time of celebration and the beginning of the agricultural season in ancient China. Many cultural traditions include fireworks, plum blossom gazing, lion dances, shrine visits, and extended families gathering and honoring their ancestors before them. This year the Lunar New Year begins on January 29, marking the beginning of the year of the snake. The celebration lasts 16 days, culminating with the lantern festival on February 12. Red is a color of good luck, just like this Plum Wine Sangria. Add edible sparkles for an extra touch of fun!

MOON FAIRY SANGRIA As seen at Y Noodle and Bar

3 oz plum wine ½ oz Yuzuri Liquor

1 oz Tito’s 1 oz cranberry juice

1 oz Rose Syrup Sparkling Water

Add ingredients to a wine glass and stir to combine with ice. Top with sparkling water!

Rose Syrup

½ cup Rose petals

2 cups sugar

2 cups water

Add rose petals to boiling water, allow to steep covered for 3 minutes, add sugar and dissolve. •
