Dia de los Muertos is a celebration of death and life, when those still treading this mortal coil are reunited with those who have shuffled off. As part of the celebration, people create ofrendas, or offerings, for their deceased loved ones, hoping to encourage them to visit.
Casa Azul Taqueria, which was opened in July by husband and wife team Javier Soto and Alejandra Ruelas, is celebrating Dia de los Muertos by hosting a public ofrenda from October 23 through November 2. Restaurant patrons seeking an authentic Mexican culinary experience are invited to bring photos of family members and friends who have passed on so that their lives can be honored.
