First introduced so long ago that its origins are shared at bars like ghost stories around a campfire, the hot toddy now sits comfortably in our hands on cold days or after enduring the ever-changing New England weather. This Indian-inspired take on the toddy offers a new twist to a beloved classic.
CHAI TEA HONEY WHISKEY INFUSION
Ingredients
• 1 bottle of honey whiskey.
• 6 chai tea bags.
Instructions Add the chai tea bags to the bottle of honey whiskey. Cover and let the mixture infuse for 4–12 hours. Remove the tea bags and check the infusion. It should remain sweet while carrying the flavors of the tea, without becoming too dry. If the flavor isn’t strong enough, add new tea bags and repeat the process.
TOASTED SPICE SYRUP
Ingredients
• Cloves.
• Cardamom.
• Cinnamon sticks.
• Star anise.
Instructions
Toast the spices in a frying pan over medium heat until they become fragrant. Add the toasted spices to boiling water and let steep for a few minutes. Add equal parts sugar to the mixture and stir until dissolved. Allow the syrup to cool before use.

Ingredients
• 2 oz chai tea honey whiskey infusion
• 1 oz RumChata
• ½ oz toasted spice syrup
• Hot water
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a mug. Top with hot water. Stir well and enjoy! •
