A new Italian restaurant is opening up soon right next to Dexter Park, with a name that screams, “These people know pasta.” Pastaio, which will presumably have an address, has social hype well worth checking out! It’s pronounced like Rocky shouting out for pasta. fb.com/PastaioPVD

Johnny Rockets on Thayer street has closed its doors, making it feel like 1959. 269 Thayer street, PVD

What Cheer Records on Thayer Street in PVD  is closing May 31. We are definitely not cheering about this one – but it gives you a month to get all the vinyl you want to rotate. (side note: What Cheer the bar, no relation, has recently reopened on the other side of PVD. Don’t mix them up)
Tallulah on Thames is officially closed in Newport. The other Tallulahs remain open – the shack in Jamestown, the Taqueria in PVD – and you’ll still find them at various farmer’s markets (check our upcoming Summer Guide for that)
