We are happy to announce that a hero has stepped forward to rescue our homeless awards show, and we now have a confirmed venue, thanks to The Columbus Theatre, and an after party planned at Barnaby Castle!
Actually, the number of offers we received was overwhelmingly generous, and absolutely renewed our faith in human nature and the kindness of our neighbors, after that faith took a bit of a hit. We want to thank the many venues, the City of Pawtucket, Temple Beth-El and numerous churches around the state (and almost every theater out there too) that made us feel welcome. Thank you to all of you!!
Voting is open for the 2019 Motif Theater Awards. VOTE NOW!!
The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, August 11 at 6:15pm at the Columbus Theatre, 270 Broadway, PVD.
Our after-party will be held across the street at the historic Barnaby Castle, 299 Broadway, PVD.
Thank you for participating and supporting our theater community.
For a key to the abbreviations we’re using, check here. And many, many thanks to the folks who helped – all the nominators, proofreaders, writers and fact checkers. Some of them have put in significant time, some significant wisdom, and all are appreciated. We often get questions about our process – it’s not exciting, but if you would like to know more about it, we’ve described it here. If we made a mistake, please let us know right away at awards@motifri.com!!
Note – there are a number of critics awards as well, including sound and lighting design categories, some judges favorites and the coveted Nazo award for breaking rules and barriers with creativity. These aren’t voted on by the public, but we will reveal the nominees in due course!
