Tarot Card Reading & March Energy Forecast
Inspiration arrives and the road finally opens

When I tuned into the energy of this month and began pulling cards, I started to feel a playful lightness swirling around my chest, throat, and third eye. There’s a heavy anchoring that tends to happen in winter, a grounding that can be both nourishing and hard as we ready ourselves to survive another dark season. This anchoring energy began to warm and soften, but not necessarily let up (this is good, I think – thawing our strong roots is much more effective than lifting them out of the ground). With the lightness I felt in the higher energy centers, there’s a creative emergence. A curiosity opening and flowing both within and without, reconnecting our explorative spirits to the growth that will soon be occurring again in the natural world.

The visual experience of this energy is a soft purple haze. It feels intuitive and celestial, a wave of remembering landing earthside from the Muses. We’ve been in an energetic stillness for a few months now, navigating big collective changes and recalibrating our own experiences. We’ve been shedding and releasing the old, in preparation to steward the new. March – especially the second half of March – feels like the month where the universe’s boot is finally off our collective neck (lovingly, and with a kiss). Roads are opening, and additional key themes are just as sweet and juicy: friendship and celebration, renewal of resources and resonant risk-taking, meaningful new relationships, and the initiatory shifting from death to creation.

Many of us have been envisioning the journey forward, reexamining who we really are and what we really want. The old paradigm is dying, and the traditional path toward security, stability, and success is no longer secure. The colonial/capitalist over-culture is running the same old ads, and yet we’re not drinking the Kool-Aid. We can hear the static desperation in its death rattle, which is sounding more and more like the rattle of a shriveled, whiny, 300-year-old baby. We see through the old game and feel a new one emerging, where resonance and imagination are the pathways forward. While this new timeline has been seeding and rooting within us, the precise path may have felt shrouded or blocked. As always, timing is often a spiritual trust fall.

The path will become clear, and it’s going to do so when we celebrate our existence. The 3 of cups reminds us that our magic and medicine is found with loved ones, that shared love and laughter is subversive and healing, and that opportunities for wealth and abundance often come from meaningful relationships. Choosing to cultivate and nurture meaningful relationships challenges the status quo; to feel a connection within our hearts is to strengthen bonds outside of what our culture  demands. The nuclear family was never put in place because it was natural, it was manufactured to disconnect us from what we know to be true: that our capacity to love each other creates infinite types of relationships, and unites us in ways that a system never could. Many of us will specifically begin collaborating on creative projects and business ideas with those we’re in a community with. If it lights you up, let it guide you forward.

March will hold a series of creation sequences for those ready and willing to claim their desires. The Mother archetype from Kim Krans’ Wild Unknown Archetypes deck offers us embodiment and profound creativity, especially through nurturing the heart and embracing our personal and shared seasons and cycles. There’s a thoughtful, wise tenderness to March, making it a beautiful time for contemplation and creating a garden (of plants or of dreams). Source energy is limitless, and as we tap into our creativity, we can quickly manifest all the dreams embodied by our authenticity. The energy is celestial and grounded, wild and intentional. Continue dreaming big and, most importantly, continue grounding your dreams in reality with tangible action and loving care. This month is a softening spell.

In order to cultivate these gardens, we first have to release what has died. I pulled the Death card from Marcella Kroll’s Sacred Symbols Oracle deck, and it reminds us that death is a vital and necessary part of life. We are beginning a new cycle — finally — this month, after a season of deep processing and reflection (and for some of us, incredible trials and tribulations). With the first day of Spring on March 20, the frequency shifts. We have made it halfway between the longest night of the year and the longest day, offering us restored vision and harmony. The cycles, relationships, and patterns we’ve outgrown deserve a thoughtful death.. The road ahead may feel long, but when we surround ourselves with the right people and trust our hearts to lead us to the right resonant risks (ie: leaps of faith), new life is possible. Creation is inevitable. The journey stops appearing long, starts becoming beautiful when our hearts are full and our creativity is embodied. There’s alchemy available when we surrender to the present.. This month, it feels like we allow the necessary deaths to occur naturally, by focusing our awareness instead on what we are growing and tending..

Some of us will be warming the cockles of our hearts with new romance. Kindred spirits find each other this month, most likely through shared vision or shared space. Casual friendships may deepen into love, or serendipitous encounters may spark a deep chemistry or long-awaited friendship. There’s symmetry here, a shared knowing that can’t be forced, only allowed. You’ll recognize these connections – trust the shape these relationships take and allow them to flow naturally. The creative spark from the Muses, that purple and silver light dancing from our heart (love) to our third eye (vision) to our crown (inspiration) is blessing our capacity to receive and enjoy meaningful connections, something we aren’t always open to. Let yourself be amazed at how good it can get.

This month, allow yourself to remember that everything becomes possible when we surrender to the present, to our desires, to the renewal of the natural world – no matter what is happening on the world stage. Deepen your roots and welcome your heart back to the helm. We’ve been waiting for months for this moment of aligned movement forward, all in tandem with a much anticipated (and deeply personal) shedding of old skin. Congratulations on making it through, and welcome back to the technicolor world, babes.
