On Tues, Feb 24, the Queen of Hearts Ball will be held to raise funds for the production of a new musical by the drama club at the Nathan Bishop Middle School. The event will feature music and dancing and will be held from 6 to 10pm at the Providence Marriott, 1 Orms St, PVD. There will also be refreshments, a cash bar and a sneak preview of a scene from Alice — A New Musical.
The middle school’s drama program is working with Providence After School Alliance, Trinity Repertory Company and Brown University to bring Alice — A New Musical to life.
It was written by Ian McNeely, a third year MFA candidate at the Brown/Trinity Consortium, and Glenn Zienowicz, the director of the drama program at Nathan Bishop Middle School in Providence.
McNeely recently wrote all of the music to Trinity Repertory Company’s production of Ivanov, based on the Chekhov play.
