HERBERT WEISS

Herbert (Herb) P. Weiss (born 1954) is an American author and journalist. For over 20 years, he has served as the economic & cultural affairs officer in the Department of Planning and Redevelopment for the city of Pawtucket, RI. He is known for his writing, including books and articles for numerous magazines, especially around issues of aging. He also spearheaded (for Mayor James E. Doyle and Mayor Donald R. Grebien) efforts to revitalize Pawtucket by attracting artists, craftsman creative sector companies, and arts organization into its mills. In August 2016 Weiss published a 310-page paperback book, Taking Charge: Collected Stories on Aging Boldly, compiling 79 of his weekly columns in 13 chapters.
