Daddy Issues

The Knight Library Winner, using Traveller Whiskey

By Fox

So as a foreword: this was all created on the fly. I chose to jump in the competition last minute while barbacking and literally came up with this cocktail in front of everyone, without any sense of measurements. FOR SCIENCE!

What simply works with a blended whiskey? Something anyone can make — with about three ingredients in their kitchen? Whiskey. Maple Syrup. Lemon. Scotch and… Chili-infused “Hot Honey” (found in the kitchen immediately before walking out to the bar). Smokey, sweet, a little spicy but more importantly, whiskey-forward and you don’t even have to shake the damn thang.

As for the name, I thought “Traveller,” Who travels? Vagabonds, explorers, train hoppers… and so I called it “Daddy Issues.” Then.. show up, state the name, swipe the bottle off the counter, and walk away for cigarettes. But don’t… Come back. Make a cocktail on the fly. Garnish with a Lucy right out of my own pack, stab a sword through it and… The Bit WINS!
