Golden Rule Peace Ship
June 11, 2023 - June 13, 2023
Built in the 1950s, the Golden Rule Peace Ship sailed across the Pacific to protest nuclear testing in the Marshall Islands. In 2009, Veterans for Peace began the processes of restoring the ship and in 2015, relaunched the ship. The Golden Rule has since sailed down the West Coast from British Columbia to San Diego even to Hawaii spreading the message of peace. Now, the Golden Rule sails to Rhode Island.
Sunday, June 11
The Golden Rule Peace Ship arrives at India Point Park on Sunday, June 11 around midday. A concert is planned at the park for 6pm.
Monday, June 12
Visitors are invited to join the crew for breakfast on Monday, June 12 at 9:30am. The ship will be open for tours throughout the day and the Quaker Meeting House (99 Morris Ave) will host a dinner at 5:30pm with a talk and film to follow.
Tuesday, June 13
On Tuesday, June 13 there will be a blessing of the boat and the Golden Rule will depart at 8am.
