Who doesn’t love a good burrito or quesadilla when you’re craving Mexican food? A Providence staple, Tortilla Flats, is changing owners after almost 40 years! Don’t worry, they’re keeping it in the family, so your favorite night out order won’t be changed! Listed for sale in 2024 with over a $1 million asking price, Everett, an owner of Flats- was recently quoted, “We’ll still be landlording. So it’ll be nice to keep the family connection.” The new ownership was announced on June 25 to be Kristen, Ryan, and Guy Shaffer. The new team is proudly upholding Tortilla Flats’ legacy on the East Side. You can find the iconic burrito restaurant at 335 Hope Street, with its noticeable “burrito man” figure in front of the building. June 27 was the final night of the previous ownership, and everyone celebrated with the public for a final night out. And that’s not all the buzz on Mexican food restaurants in the general area; a new stop for authentic, real recipes and the best drinks is coming straight to Pawtucket with Bandidos Restaurant, found at 832 Newport Ave.
