Stardew Valley: Symphony of Seasons brings the beloved music of Pelican Town to PPAC.

Often people think of that perfect escape, to flee the ever-bustling congestion of city life to enjoy the peaceful world of nature. You may have wondered what it would be like to just get up and move away, start anew with honest farm work. Stardew Valley was created by Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe, just for that. Stardew Valley is an independent videogame where the player inherits an old farm from the player’s recently passed grandfather. The player quits their job at the soul-crushing JojaMart and starts a brand new life in Pelican Town, a modest town full of friendly folk the player can befriend and even marry.

The videogame was a massive hit, selling over 40 million copies worldwide with new content in the works. Gamers and even non-gamers fell in love with the world of Pelican Town, so much so that the music of Stardew Valley has come to life in a world orchestra tour, and this year’s concert known as Symphony of Seasons is now coming to RI.

The Symphony of Seasons is conducted by music veteran Jeffrey R. Smith, director of the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale. This is Mr. Smith’s second rodeo with a videogame tour, having also conducted for Stardew Valley’s previous tour, the Festival of Seasons. This is Stardew Valley’s first visit to RI, with the concert premiering at PPAC on February 24, 2026. Tickets are still on sale but running out fast.

Shockingly, Smith isn’t a Stardew Valley player himself. Despite the lack of personal experience in Pelican Town, he still loves the community Stardew Valley has to offer. Symphony of Seasons serves as an unforgettable experience for any fan of Stardew Valley; The audience is taken on a brand new adventure in music where fans experience the cozy and warm atmosphere of Pelican Town in a unique live performance beginning from the player’s first day in Pelican Town and carrying listeners to their arrival at the Summit. A full 35-piece live orchestra will perform the game’s most iconic themes with exclusive visuals and original content created specifically for the tour under the supervision of ConcernedApe himself. Concertgoers revisit iconic locations, fun festivals, and beloved characters as the music guides them through the changing seasons.

Despite its deep roots within the world of Pelican Town, Symphony of Seasons welcomes all. According to Smith, even those who are unfamiliar with Stardew Valley can have an unforgettable musical experience.

“One aspect of concerts that people go for is when they’re familiar with the music. So if you’re taking that away, fortunately, the music itself is great and enjoyable. And varied. You know, different, and there’s some fast stuff. You can just hear recordings, but to hear it in person is fantastic. If you’ve never played the game, and if you’ve never been to an orchestral concert, it’s a great thing to hear this unique music live.”

While Stardew Valley is known for its calming music, there are plenty of songs that bring excitement and variety to the performance. Many of these songs are Smith’s favorites, which you can definitely listen out for during the performance.

“I love some of the fast stuff. I also like “Ginger Island.” That’s one of my favorites. Probably the other one would be “Nature’s Crescendo” — I think a lot of people like that one. Oh, and of course, “Dance of the Moonlight Jellies.” The music is so closely tied with specific scenes, specific gameplay, and so… When people hear the music, all of a sudden, you know, it brings something back to mind to them. Because they do relate to it. They connect to it. You know, it feels like home to them.”
