For all ages, To do in Rhode Island
At this coffee hour the witty and enchanting story of Coppelia will be told. For any new comers to ballet, this is a great ballet to introduce to anyone. We will show you a portion from ACT 2 – The Toy Shop – with life size dancing dolls and mischievous fun. Appropriate for ages 4 and up.
Artistic Director Herci Marsden invites you to join The State Ballet of Rhode Island’s Project Ballet Coffee Hour series, “From Studio to Stage”, for an inside view of how a ballet is created, from the training of a dancer to the inspiration of a choreographer, with music, lecture, and visual performance… cheese and crackers, coffee and dessert!
Project Ballet Coffee Hour is a four-series, in-house family friendly event that takes place in the Company’s 54-year-old historic ballet studio in Lincoln. It seeks to bring viewers an interactive and up-close look at the behind-the-scenes of a ballet, from costume design and fitting, music composition, choreography, and more, all free of charge to the public!
Reservation is required due to limited seating by phone (401) 334-2560 or by email info@stateballet.com.
