Spring Equinox 2026

In typical Aries fashion the Spring season will hit us like a shot, maybe like a shot in the arm, hopefully not a shot in the foot. The Equinox begins two days after the New Moon. With that fingernail Moon in the sky it is a good time to take action, but wait… In the afternoon, Mercury turns in direct motion. It takes time for Mercury to gather some speed. Take some time and think things over before making a move. The Sun, Moon and Mercury are part of your daily life. The slower moving planets stick around for a while and someway or another they make an impression. Saturn and Neptune are still very close in the sky. Over the next few days the Sun will roll over these planets and light their fire. Issues around the February Eclipse may sing the same tunes again.

The Full Moon on April 1, with the Sun in Aries and Moon in Libra, which may seem like the battle of the sexes. But it can also bring art and music on one side and the athlete and team sports on the other. School children, school boards, and education keep the politicians busy. Some legal issues may keep the man or woman in charge busy. Us regular folks will enjoy our regular amusements. Some folks may meet some unusual characters in our travels.

Just before the New Moon on April 17, Mars slides home to first base, Aries. When Mars is a good boy he will get you through the finish line or hit that home run. If you have a lot of Mars energy moving through your life, use it positively. If you are feeling crabby and augmentative, take a walk, work out or go dancing. Burn it up before it eats you up. During this time Mars rolls over Neptune and Saturn. They are not as close together as they were in February but Mars will give them a little bridge. What a guy! He’s the action guy, Neptune is all smoke and mirrors, while Saturn wants concrete real stuff. For good or ill, Mars is going to stir the pot. In the big wide world, the Sun and Moon sit in the 12th house at this New Moon. In big letters: behind the scenes manipulation. Human rights – if you can get a seat at the table, go for it. Everything’s a secret, enemies, clubs, spies, and covert aggression. Us regular folks may tell or learn a couple of secrets.

Our next movement around the circle of the zodiac takes us to the Full Moon in Scorpio on May 1. Sun in Taurus shines the light on our “stuff.” Taurus wants quality stuff. Scorpio wants to know how you are going to pay for it. The big change at this Full Moon is Uranus moving into Gemini. This is another one of those big shifts. Uranus makes technology move and shake and Gemini gives Uranus the platform to do all that action. In an air sign he will connect with the really heavy weight, Pluto, some time in the summer, but we’ll begin to feel the waves soon. Gemini is a quick mover, right up Uranus’ alley. Relationships may change. It’s a matter of keeping things light. Let’s not get stuck in the mud. It’s fun, keep it that way.

The New Moon on May 16 puts us firmly in Taurus territory. Situated in one of the money houses, Taurus is right at home. Shared resources, taxes, insurance, and who owns what. Keep an eye on your spending. With Taurus on deck you want nice, quality goods. You love it! You have to have it! Stop, think, check the bank balance. At least take a look. You also might take a look at things like inflation, what’s up with the treasury, and other boring financial stuff. It’s a necessary evil.

The Full Moon on May 31 moves us into Gemini territory with that big old Moon in Sagittarius. Gemini puts us into the news and information mode, while Sagittarius points us to the scholar stuff, religion, and what is legal and what isn’t. The call for justice on a lot of fronts will be a welcome blast for those who have been waiting for that justice for a long time. With the Sun, Uranus, and Ceres close together making beautiful music with Pluto, we can hear the Sagittarius Moon joining the chorus. Ceres is the gal who rules agriculture. When her daughter disappeared, she stopped everything growing. It was a barren land. It was Pluto who did the deed and it was Jupiter who tipped her off. That old platitude, “Hell hath no fury….” does not fit the term scorn. With Venu and Jupiter in Cancer it is the betrayal of innocence that brings that fury. Keep in mind that Uranus is in the mix. With this guy around, anything goes. He’s the “surprise” guy: if you can think of it, that’s not it. And Pluto is the master of power and control. He’s not giving it up. But Ceres ain’t no pussy.

The New Moon on June 14 brings us to the last before the end of Spring. This Gemini lunation encourages us to talk, learn and exchange ideas. Sitting in the 5th house bringing schools, up to highschool, minors, school boards, and the like into focus. It calls us all to those places of amusements that we all love. We may have some light and airy days and connections with those pleasant people in our lives. With Venus on the angle of love, marriage, and relationships, we cherish the congenial folks in our lives. The new ones and the old ones. We cannot forget Pluto opposing, in the first house, Venus. Pluto in the first is about the people, the consciousness of the people, and grassroots opinions. Uranus is still connected so anything goes.

Those slower moving planets do bring change. Sometimes it comes in a spark, but most of the time the change in public opinion takes awhile. But I think we are hearing some different opinions. Or some surprising opinions we never thought of hearing. We will contend with changing opinions and changing weather. One thing’s for sure: As soon as you think you have figured it out, pop goes the weasel! Be kind!
