Heavy Rain, High Winds, Minor Flooding Sun – Mon: 60°F precludes any chance of snow

At Providence, rain beginning Sun afternoon and continuing until Mon mid-day, possibly heavy at times and accompanied by winds gusting to 45MPH, could cause minor street and coastal flooding, especially during high tide Mon morning a few hours before and after sunrise. Wind gusts may cause downed tree limbs and electrical power outages. Thunderstorm activity is possible Sun night into Mon morning.

While the main risks from the storm are expected to stay well to the west of the metropolitan area where 2 – 3 inches of rain is likely, from New Haven to Hartford to Worcester and northwestern RI is the region where as much as 6 inches of rain is possible. Urban, poor drainage, and flash flooding as well as rapid rises on small rivers and streams are likely.

Temperatures 60°F overnight Sun into Mon will stay well above 50°F through Mon morning, falling below 40°F Mon around sunset and then below 30°F by Tue sunrise.
