ARIA’s Rhode Island Author Expo Goes Virtual

Every year in December, the Association of Rhode Island Authors (ARIA) hosts the Rhode Island Author Expo where fans can meet authors, and authors and would-be authors alike can take part in workshops related to their craft. This year, COVID forced it to go virtual, and organizer Mike Squatrito gave us the details of what’s shaping up to be a pretty exciting event.

“It’s going to be an online event with a lot of Zoom meetings,” he said. “We’re going to have headliners featured throughout the day, we’ll have panels and presentations for different genres, readings and workshop presentations for people interested in publishing or self-publishing.”

Participants will have all the information they need to go into any Zoom room they choose. They’ll also have the opportunity to chat with authors and purchase their books through planned author coffee klatsches. Squatrito is excited about trying something new and views it as an opportunity to offer more programming for ARIA members and fans. “If this goes well, we’ll be able to plan more events throughout the year.”
