RI artist and curator Reed McLaren will be opening “Convergence” at
Artists’ Exchange Gallery in Cranston, the third installment in her *Integrated
Exhibitions *series which serves as a forum for emerging artists with
disabilities to show their work in an established gallery with visiting
artists. The show will highlight work from Resources for Human Development
RI and Flying Shuttles Studio, both in Pawtucket, Artists’ Exchange; and
four visiting artists connected with (gallery ellipsis) in Newport: Theresa
Girard, Mary Ann Liscio, Kerrie Lynch, and Carolina Arentsen. Examples of
different media will be on display, including textiles, painting, epoxy,
and mixed media.

“Convergence” will demonstrate the culmination of two years of volunteering
and curating for McLaren, who has worked with the non-profit Artists’
Exchange to renovate and update the gallery space located at 50 Rolfe
Square. The Rolfe Square location is home to classrooms dedicated to visual
art and theatre instruction for artists with disabilities and people of all
ages in the community.  The show opens August 14th and runs through
September 13th.

*Reception*: August 28th from 5-8pm. Refreshments and RHD-RI video
screening in the Black Box Theatre.
