Dust off your rolling pins, kiddies. It’s contest time! In honor of their May performance of Waitress, the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) is holding a pie recipe contest, open to anyone with a pie plate and a dream. Follow in the footsteps of Jenna, the main character in Waitress, who creates whimsical pies, like Marshmallow Mermaid, to inject a little magic into her life. Recipes will be accepted until March 8 and can be emailed to cdipompo@ppacri.org along with your contact information and the source of your recipe. Three finalists will bake their pie for a panel of judges, and the winning recipe will be printed in The Providence Journal and featured in the official Waitress cookbook. The winner also will receive four tickets to see the show at PPAC this spring.
