There’s a little something for everyone to be found in this year’s releases from local RI artists. From dancing in your kitchen, to moshing in your basement, to driving down 95 at a very comfortable pace, our playlist of new, local releases should have you covered to match any situation you may find yourself in. Let’s get into it!

Guess Method, Retrosight

After years of playing live and making a name for themselves throughout New England, funk/dance group Guess Method finally got around to releasing their debut ep, Retrosight. With a blend of infectious grooves, sensible songwriting, and dynamic musicianship, this project will have you itching to get up and bust a move.

Liminal Space, FantasyLand

Coming out strong with their debut ep, you’ll want to keep Liminal Space on your radar in the local scene. Somewhere between psych and indie rock, their sound consists of bright, spacey guitars, disciplined songwriting, and high-quality performances from each band member. Be sure to check this one out.

Moss Boy, throw me a bone

URI alt-rock/shoegaze outfit, Moss Boy, continue to prove themselves with each release and their latest ep, “throw me a bone” is no different. The project can hang with the best of the genre and their future success seems undeniable at this point – very excited to see what the group has in store next.

Gavin Castleton, Pattern Breaker

With elements of funk, rock, electronic and soul on top of some extremely introspective songwriting, Gavin Castleton is back with his album, Pattern Breaker. It’s a dense, ambitious project where Gavin has a lot to say on love, the corporate world, and fatherhood. A great pick for fans of interesting, seasoned songwriting.

Lee McAdams, Anxiety Incarnate

The most experimental of the projects on this list, Lee Mcadams leaves few stones unturned on, Anxiety Incarnate. Between the bold synths, heavy industrial percussion, and compelling lyricism, Lee is operating completely out of the box on this one which makes for an exciting, unique listen. •
