On his second full length LP, Underwater Palace singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Andrew Potter showcases his musical authenticity as well as his years of experience as an entertainer to make for one of the highest quality local releases of 2024. Blending elements of jazz, rock, blues and folk, the performances all around are seasoned, incredibly solid and give the music another layer of character that can be tough to come by in the local climate. In terms of songwriting, Potter and his constant collaborator Donald Wheeler Cole tell stories of love, lust and the evolution within oneself to the point where the listener can almost come away from the project with some valuable insight into life itself. The project overall is a look into Potter’s life experience compiled with some high quality performances as well as some seasoned songwriting, all of which combine to make for a great listen that’ll have you eager for what Andrew Potter has in store next.
