Rong Chic: Celebrating the authentic flavor of Sichuan cuisine, this place is boasted by one yelper as “up and coming!” Scrolling through their socials provides a tasty glimpse at all their offerings such as their tofu cheesecake or crispy scallion pancakes. I live right next to this place, and it’s always bustling. Join the crowd at 388 Wickenden St, PVD, or visit first virtually @rong_chic

High Motor: From the owners of PVD’s Lucky Enough, this little neighborhood bar and grill has not just beer but nachos, wings, and chicken tenders too. Oh, and also hot dogs, big burgers, and sometimes live entertainment. Roll on over to their website, highmotorgrille.com or pull up to 342 East Ave, Pawtucket.

Club Frills: This ol’ cat just went to Club Frills for the first time Saturday night. It’s super cool! Vintage vibe, great cocktails (you can always judge a place by their dirty martini), and fun tunes. Owned and operated by the guys who run Pizza Marvin right down the road, so you know the food is going to be of the same greasy goodness. Check it out for yourself at 79 Ives St, PVD or on the web at clubfrillspvd.com

Sawyer’s Market: A little neighborhood market & wine bar. Looks like their bites are tasty and tiny. Who doesn’t love wine, oysters, deviled eggs, and smoked fish dips? Flaneur over to 447 Broadway, PVD, or visit their page @shopsawyersmarket

Debbie’s: A small, humble place run by one of PVD’s most well-known chefs, Ed Davis. Serving hot dogs and seasonal salads. There seems to be a big hot dog trend happening… What’s up with that? Ketchup and mustard on over to 100 Washington St, PVD or @debbies_ri

Wally’s in Old Canteen: Much a source of internal strife, the famous Old Canteen is now fully functional as a goddamn Wally’s Weiners. They’ve kept some of the original decor, which is good; but the food definitely isn’t the same. Either way, go get more hot dogs, I guess… 120 Atwells Ave, PVD.

Finn’s Harborside: After their fire in 2024, the Harborside is finally reopening with an outdoor bar called Slip 38. This sounds like Florida and pina coladas, or East Greenwich and pastel color shirts. There will be limited food options available from food trucks. Boat-shoe over to 38 Water St, East Greenwich or their insta @finnsharborside

CLOSED

Tortilla Flats: Not closing! Just changing owners. Welcoming in Kristin, Ryan, and their business partner Guy Shaffer. Offering “exciting updates and fresh touches.” More guac, please!
