Opened:
Lobanton: Moving into PVD’s popular Weybosset Street, this spot boasts gourmet Asian street food. Taking a peek at their insta is enough to tell that they’re not lying! Man, those dumplings look tasty, just begging to be dipped in sauces. Open Monday through Sunday, from 11am – 3:30pm…. Get em’ while it’s hot! @lobanton.ri or in person at 65 Weybosset Street.
Flavors Halal Restaurant: This place is full of flavors. Mostly Halal flavors, lots of meats marinated with spices. So far, all the reviews are stellar! Lamb smash burgers, pizza, and refreshing mocktails. Find them at 1998 Mineral Spring Ave, PVD, or on the web: flavors.biz
Tolia Restaurant: This spot is “inspired by the ancient region of Anatolia in the Middle East.” Located in the food hub Track 15, all their grub looks very tasty and authentic. From hummus to baklava, they’ve got it all… and you don’t even have to leave the city! But you do have to leave your couch. Probably cheaper than booking a flight right now, and definitely safer. Check out their morsels on insta @tolia.restaurant or on the web: toliarestaurant.com
Pivotal Brewing Company: Is not new but is opening another spot in Newport! It’s taking over the location of the beloved Salvation Cafe off 140 Broadway Street. If anything was going to replace that joint, thank god it’s beer! Keep an eye out for the opening and their hours through insta, @pivotalbrewingcompany
Debbie’s: A humble little spot, Debbie’s serves up hot dogs, “not” dogs, sides, and drinks. More dawgs please! It’s a hot dog summer, I guess… Everything looks fresh, and made to order! Go get one of their monstrous sandwiches at 100 Washington St, PVD, or mosey around their website: debbiesri.com.
Maven’s Delicatessen: Is getting a sporty new makeover by moving to the new RIFC-sponsored stadium, Tidewater Landing Stadium. This popular Jewish deli has opened a little kiosk to serve all those hungry sports fanatics. Better get cookin’, those folks love to eat! Especially bagels and schmear, Kreplah, potato or beef Knish, and an old-fashioned reuben. Find them at the stadium!
A Guy and His Pie: Ahh yes, more pizza! This time it’s Detroit style, all the way from Lorraine Mills in Pawtucket, and sandwiched between Crooked Current Brewery and White Dog Distillery. This former pop-up-food award-winner has been a long-standing local staple of delicious, and trendy, ‘za – now he has a brick-and-mortar home. Slice your way over to insta, @a_guy_and_his_pie or their website: aguyandhispie.com
