About a month ago, Ace Frehley took the stage at the newly renovated Uptown Theatre in Providence. We didn’t know it at the time, but this would end up being Ace’s final live performance.
The Uptown Theatre had just reopened, ushering in a new era for the historic venue. A landmark since 1926, the Uptown stage has seen generations of performers, but after hearing of Ace’s passing, this one stands out as particularly special.
Ace was Ace that night. Gracing us with his mischievous, light-hearted and fun spirit, all while shredding his iconic smoking Les Paul at 74 years old. It’s undeniable the mark he has left on rock and roll history, inspiring countless musicians and fans across the world.
We’re grateful to have been there.
