CoLab Theatre: A new local theatre has officially opened its doors. CoLab Studio Theatre is a brand new nonprofit theatre founded by RI residents David Sackal and Aubrey Dion. Their mission promotes productions that are “uncommon, unconventional, underrepresented, and new.” A hallmark of their theatrical season is the “New Works Slot” which is reserved for local playwrights who wish to workshop their scripts. Jo’s Dough: Woman-owned and operated artisan sourdough bakery. Her starter is named “Doughlene” and you can pre-order for pick up or delivery on the website. Basic and more exciting rotating flavors available. Main storefront: 174 Gansett Ave Cranston, RI. josdoughri.com

The Rhode House: The American-Dominican restaurant recently closed. They were previously located in the URI-friendly plaza on 99 Fortin Rd in South Kingston.
Ran Zan Japanese Restaurant: Shut down after 28 years of quality sushi and traditional Japanese hospitality. Previously located on the cottage core strip lined with bakeries, thrifty shops, and a handful of other boutique eateries, Ran Zan has ran into the sunset. 1084 Hope St, PVD.
Union Station Brewery: Many Rhode Islanders are sad to see this one go. They offically closed their doors on Sunday, July 19th after nearly 30 years of serving patrons in downtown PVD. The RI Brewer’s Guild commented on the Station’s closure as a somber decision, expressing their gratitude for just overlapping three decades of service to the identity of Rhode Island’s capitol. The brewery changed hands and was briefly down for renovations within the past year, and it seems the reopen didn’t take hold. The esteemed brewery was in consistant contention with Trinity Brewhouse for the status of oldest PVD Brewery. Coincidentally, Trinity also recently changed ownership, but seems like they will be clinching that title.
