EDM: Fall Funky Festivities

The few. The proud. The standout electronic music events happening this fall. From dubstep to happy hardcore, costumed to glow-in-the-dark, the Providence area has got you covered. The question is: Are you ready?

If not, get your shit together, because these funky festivities are coming up quick.

On Saturday, September 24, enter (if you dare) the “Temple of Techno” at Club Therapy, an all-night dance party starring Toronto-based tribal tech DJ D-Unity. It’s only fitting that he headlines this jungle-themed after party, which will feature jungle foliage deco and body painting. Other DJs who will take on the “Bass Chamber” and “Catacombs” (otherwise known as stages!) during this midnight to 6am “Techno Takeover” are Austin Diogo, DURTYSOXXX, Droc and Travis T Stone. Next up, the Hyperglow Tour is scheduled to hit Lupo’s on Friday, October 14. English dubstep DJ Zomboy will headline the black light-themed event. Last — but absolutely not least — Tight Crew is switching things up for Halloween this year, and in this case, change is awesome! On Saturday, October 29, the Crew will outdo themselves by hosting a three-venue (yes, three) Luigi’s Haunted Mansion-themed party. Even more interestingly, this time, the locale is Pawtucket. The Met, Hope Artiste Village and Breaktime Bowl will be the settings for this Halloween “Massive.” And massive it will be! More than 20 DJs from all over the world are scheduled to spin this spooktacular celebration. One thing that isn’t changing, though, is Tight Crew’s love of attendees joining in on the fun with creative costumes to match the Halloween and video game-themed deco.
