Heat Advisory Tue–Wed: Unseasonably hot 90°F afternoon temps; <strong>Air Quality Alert</strong>

Heat Advisory in effect from May 19, 11:00 AM EDT until May 20, 08:00 PM EDT

At Providence, a Heat Advisory is posted Tue 11am – Wed 8pm. Temperatures exceeding 85°F are expected each day 11am – 6pm, possibly exceeding 90°F around 2pm.

Tue late afternoon there is a slight chance of rain but no more than 20%. Wed afternoon rain is likely 1pm – 8pm, with thunderstorms possible that may be locally and briefly severe. Other than while raining, humidity will be moderate.

Afternoon high temperatures will revert to seasonal normal Thu – Fri 70°F and Sat – Sun 60°F. Rain is possible Fri night through Mon.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
