Yellow Peril Gallery is pleased to present PROXIMITY, a solo exhibition featuring sculpture, performance, photography and installation work by Hao Ni. In this exhibition, Ni created a series of work based on locations such as home, private institutions, and airports. Through examining the ritualistic interaction between people and these places, and making connection to his own understanding of a shifting identity as an immigrant, Ni’s works serve not only as studies on the creation of the contemporary identity, but more specifically, the ambivalence, desperation, and violence during that process.
