The Tarbox Ramblers is a quartet, with string bass, guitar, fiddle and drums. The band’s sound melds Appalachian, traditional blues and gospel music in exciting and unexpected arrangements. We typically play some very old songs – St. James Infirmary, Jack of Diamonds, The Cuckoo, to name a few – as well as many of our own compositions. The group’s live show has an joyous feel to it. TheTarbox Ramblers’ albums, on the Rounder label, have received favorable reviews from Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, All Things Considered and more.
