The RISD Museum and the RISD Museum Associates welcome friends, families, and first-time visitors to the Museum Associates Annual Holiday Celebration. Cheerful carols and seasonal stories in the galleries, art-making activities, festive refreshments, and of course, a visit with Santa Claus.
Enjoy the Dickens’ holiday classic A Christmas Carol, as shared by master storyteller Robb Dimmick. Join local author Anika Denise for a reading and book signing of Baking Day at Grandma’s, illustrated by RISD alumnus Christopher Denise. (Books available for purchase). Stop by Danforth Hall to make take-home festive window globe ornaments. Don’t forget to share your wish list with jolly old Saint Nick in the Museum’s Contemporary Gallery from 1 to 4 pm!
RISD WORKS, the Museum store, is open all day for holiday shopping-featuring unique gift items and artwork created by RISD alumni and faculty.
The RISD Museum asks visitors to enter the Museum through the Chace Center at 20 North Main Street. Please note that families are welcome to use strollers, but backpack child carriers are not allowed in the Museum. Backpacks and large bags can be safely stored in the Museum’s free lobby lockers.
