Nemasket Wind was born out of friendships among musicians from the South Shore of Massachusetts to Little Compton, Rhode Island.  John Almeida (fiddle), Liz Sorel (fiddle) and Jimbo Wilson (rhythm guitar) have extensive backgrounds rooted in country, bluegrass and americana music.  Jimbo was inducted into the Massachusetts Country Music Awards Association Hall of Fame in 2012.  John has sawed on that fiddle of his at festivals and events throughout New England.  Liz Sorel recently appeared as a feature at the South Shore Folk Music Club as a member of a trio, Sachem Road.  Bruce Packard (bass) is a rocker who anchored a country band prior to joining Nemasket Wind. Ed Dutton (banjo, guitar) started his musical journey as a choir boy, became a part of the folk scene in Cambridge during the 60’s and since has a played with a variety of bluegrass bands as well as singing some beautiful duets with his wife of 47 years.  The band combines genres with each member lending their experience to create a unique sound.  Nemasket Wind debuted at Bluegrass On The Bogs (Hanson, MA) in 2014 and continues to host open mics twice monthly at The Frosty Dog in Carver.
