“Creepy and Kooky, Mysterious and Spooky” The Addams Family in Concert at Academy Players Oct 26-27

addamJust in time for Halloween, The Academy Players Company will present The Addams Family in concert this weekend on Friday, October 26 and Saturday October 27 at 7pm. The first installment in their new Musicals in Concert series, The Addams Family will be presented in its entirety as a concert reading season in the newly renovated James and Gloria Maron Cultural Arts Center.

Based on the infamously macabre family of characters created by artist Charles Addams, the musical comedy boasts music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party) and a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (Jersey Boys). The award-winning musical puts the titular macabre family’s macabre way of life to the test when they must host some normal – or “straight arrow Midwestern” — guests for dinner.

According to artistic director Rita Maron, the group will also be collecting donations for World Central Kitchen during the two performances. World Central Kitchen is a foundation dedicated to bringing healthy meals to victims of Hurricane Michael. Tickets are $25 and will only be available in advance, online at academyplayersri.org
